If you were born in 2008 and an EU resident, you’re eligible to apply for one of 40,000 free Interrail passes. These passes provide seven days of free train travel within the EU.
Closing date for applications is 15th October 2026 11:59 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
Residents of all EU member states are eligible, plus outermost and overseas territories and countries with close ties to the EU. For example, you can apply if you live in Martinique or Iceland – just need to fly to Europe to use the pass.
You can apply as a group, although you can then still travel individually.
The seven days of train travel must be used within 30 days of the first travel day. Passes are valid from 1st March 2027, to 31st May 2028.
The pass normally costs €286.
