The only poisonous (jedovatý) snake in the Czech Republic is an adder (zmije). The poison shouldn't kill you but the very young and old should seek medical help immediately. The adder is apparently endangered and likely to hide from humans. Many people have Ophidiophobia and just seeing a snake, poisonous or not, will really freak … Continue reading Snakes in the Czech Republic – should you move home if you see one?
You can travel the World only to fall in love with the girl next door! And that's exactly how I felt after spending a Saturday night in the Hilton Prague. Who knew that such a great Hilton was so close? Here's my review. I try and book Hilton hotels, from Waldorf Astoria to Hampton Inn, … Continue reading Hilton Hotel Prague
We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Prague (review here). The Living Well Health Club is also available to non-guests, albeit a quite a hefty price, so I'm reviewing it separately. If you're staying in an Executive Room in the hotel, you can wear your room bathrobes and slippers and head to the mezzanine floor. … Continue reading Living Well Health Club at the Hilton Hotel Prague
Bistro 33 refurbished their garden a few months ago - I remember Steven Trumpfheller, from the recently closed U Emy Destinnové restaurant, was cooking for the opening party barbeque. With the Summer in full swing, we thought we'd try the dinner menu. The restaurant looks inviting (the other side of that board says 'garden open'). … Continue reading Bistro 33, Vinohrady, Prague

The Žižkov Tower (Czech: Žižkovský vysílač) stands 216 metres (709 feet) tall and was built between 1985 and 1992. The Tower was designed by architect Václav Aulický and structural engineer Jiří Kozák. The design of the tower divides opinion among Prague residents - it certainly doesn't blend sympathetically with the architecture of Prague. Imagine that someone … Continue reading David Černý’s Miminka (Babies) return to the Žižkov Tower, Prague
