Zinc, the restaurant inside the Hilton Old Town, has an excellent offer: Three samples of Czech dishes, plus three glasses of Czech wine for only 500 Kč. Offer only available on Thursday evenings.
Zinc was originally a Gordon Ramsay restaurant called Maze and won a Michelin star. Renamed as Zinc, the decor has remained the same since 2009. That’s about to change as the restaurant is under reconstruction – diners need to visit a converted conference room on the second floor.

It’s almost better than Zinc as there are windows with views to the street and natural light.
There didn’t seem to be any record of our reservation, menu choice or gluten-free request for one diner. The restaurant wasn’t busy and we chose a table by a window. We explained we would like the Czech Vibes menu and they were happy to arrange one gluten-free version.
We were surprised to receive two baskets of warm bread – one gluten free.

We found a filtered water fountain nearby and poured ourselves two glasses of free water.
We were asked if we wanted red or white wine and we chose red.
The wine sampler arrived with three decent-size glasses of Czech wines – all good quality. We asked if each was intended to be paired with a specific dish, but were told they weren’t.

The sampler plates arrived. Both the regular and gluten-free versions were delicious and surprisingly enough to eat for dinner.

The gluten-free option.

When the bill arrived it was around 1200 Kč. There was some discussion about the offer and luckily I was able to show the offer on their website.
Even at 600 Kč per person, the offer represents good value. If you book, make sure you take a screenshot or a link to the offer in case of any issues.
