Malá Argenta just opened a small takeaway shop on Újezd, right next to the Hellichova tram stop. Their empanadas are amazing!
The sign in the window says ‘Open until end of stock’ and I was lucky enough to make it just before they closed at around 7pm on a Wednesday evening.
Inside are just a few seats in the window.
It’s really a takeaway, but they do sell drinks and you’re welcome to eat inside.
You can choose hot baked or frozen empanadas – all priced at 89 Kč unless you make a bulk order.
I chose one Chorizo Cheeseburger (chorizo, beef and cheddar with homemade dressing) and one Creamy Chicken & Bacon (chicken, mushrooms and bacon with bechamel sauce). Both were still hot when I got home over twenty minutes later.
They were really amazing. I took a picture, but they looked a bit sad on my plate at home, so here are the versions from their website.
Hellichova is one of those tram stops where the stops aren’t opposite each other. Malá Argenta is next to the stop where the tram is going from Újezd to Malostranské náměstí.
The shop can be closed when they are attending a festival or farmer’s market, so check https://malaargenta.cz/en/pages/food-events for those dates.
I’d recommend Malá Argenta and I’m looking forward to try every empanada on the menu.
