Pražská Integrovaná Doprava (PID) have produced a number of videos about Prague transport. The videos are both funny and informative and mostly easy to understand even if you don’t speak Czech.
This video shows how buses are given priority with dedicated bus lanes.
This video reminds everyone that the 119 bus between the airport and Nádraží Veleslavín is now a 59 trolley bus.
This video reminds everyone that trams have priority over cars at 90% of traffic lights. Plus you can also have a beer.
This video shows how you can use your Lítačka app to borrow a bicycle for 15 minutes, twice in a day. I haven’t tried this but it appears that you need to also install a bicycle app and link the accounts – see instructions after the video.
To utilize this service, follow these steps:
- Download the Bike-Sharing App: Install the mobile app of one of Prague’s participating bike-sharing providers, such as Rekola or Nextbike.
- Link Your Accounts: Within the bike-sharing app, link your account to your active PID Lítačka account. This connection verifies your eligibility for the free rides.
- Rent a Bike: Use the bike-sharing app to locate and rent a bike. The first 15 minutes of each ride will be free, up to two times per day.
Please note that if your ride exceeds 15 minutes, standard charges of the bike-sharing provider will apply for the additional time. Also, ensure that your electronic pre-paid ticket remains valid to for the duration of the bike rental.
More Funny Videos
These hilarious videos are all live action and remind passengers about travel etiquette. We’ve translated these into English and added subtitles.
The videos feature Czech actor Jan Vondráček who is also the voice you hear on Prague trams announcing the next stop. Vondráček plays PIDiatr Mh.D Blaž Vršnik – where PIDiatr is a play on ‘Pražská Integrovaná Doprava’ (PID) and Mh.D is a play on ‘Městská Hromadná Doprava’.
