Il Giardino Toscano is the restaurant within the NH Collection Hotel near Anděl. The food and service are great and you can ride a funicular railway before and after your dinner.
This is currently the only working funicular in Prague – the public funicular to Petřín is closed for reconstruction until summer 2026.
To ride the funicular up, head to the NH Prague City Hotel, just a short walk from Anděl metro and tram stop. The funicular is to the left of reception and takes you to the NH Collection Hotel and the restaurant. Here’s the ride down during both nighttime and daytime.
The restaurant is modern and there is plenty of space between tables. You’re quite high up and so there are good views of Prague from the windows – I’m not sure why they leave the curtains closed.
During the summer, there is a large outside terrace.
We had three courses and everything was delicious. Prices correct as of February 2025.
Three Shrimps, Aglio Olio, Focaccia (290 Kč).
Really tender Beef Sirloin, Broccoli, Truffle, Potatoes (780 Kč).
Meringue with raspberry sorbet (190 Kč).
Il Giardino Toscano’s biggest problem is lack of promotion. Their Facebook and Instagram pages are hardly ever updated and the menu on the outdated website doesn’t match the menu in the restaurant. Don’t let deter you from visiting and enjoy your ride on the funicular.
