Pardubice (PED) is a lovely, small airport about an hour by train from Prague hlavní nádraží. It’s worth checking if you can fly to your destination for less and/or at a better time.
The train ride was comfortable, although this was First Class.
Pardubice station is also nice.
Sadly, the bus from the station to the airport isn’t very frequent. Worse, the local taxi drivers ask for a ridiculous 300 Kč and should be ashamed of themselves. Uber don’t seem to operate in the area. Luckily, Bolt were available and a friendly driver took us to the airport for 150 Kč.
The airport is small – reminds us of Teesside Airport in England.
Security is fast and friendly. Once, airside, there is a shop and a cafe.
The cafe prices are less than you would pay at Prague Airport.
There is an outside terrace where smoking is allowed.
You can watch your aircraft land and then walk to the boarding steps.
Pardubice Airport offers a pleasant departure experience. Just avoid the local taxi drivers and use Bolt instead.
