Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral, Scotland, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. Her reign spanned 15 prime ministers, starting with Sir Winston Churchill, born in 1874, to Liz Truss, born 101 years later in 1975.

Most news outlets will cover her reign, marked by a sense of duty and decorum sadly lacking in today’s society – we wouldn’t think to attempt that.

Many will post on social media and attempt to make the story about themselves or their causes – this is not the time for that.

Some will post despicable comments and we hope that they will be banned from whatever platform they are using. Let’s hope they will lose the few friends they have left.

RIP Your Majesty.
