Restaurant Week lasts from 17th March to 22nd April 2026. So, it’s more like restaurant month. For 869 Kč per person, it offers a chance to visit some high-end restaurants for a three-course menu and cocktail. We visited Garden’s Restaurant.

869 Kč? But the advertising says 790 Kč. Yes, there’s a sneaky reservation fee of 79 Kč added. If you choose one of the 14 restaurants in Prague that offer a 490 Kč menu, the reservation fee is 49 Kč. We don’t like it, but let’s move on…

I’m not sure what an apostrophe is doing in the name Garden’s. I can only assume the owner is Mr. Zahrada.

The entrance is a small passage off Vodičkova, close to Václavské nám. tram stop.

The restaurant interior is cosy and peaceful.

Our table was in the heated conservatory.

A 0.75l carafe of filtered water 75 Kč. The Martini Fiero and tonic, included in the menu price, was similar to an Aperol Spritz. There were several couples on nearby tables, all enjoying the same drink.

The staff were really friendly and professional.

For Restaurant Week Month, we tried Menu A. Menu B appears to be a fish/seafood option. A printed menu was provided.

The amuse bouche (a special surprise from the chef) was….
bread and nut butter!

The waitress was clearly embarrassed to say ‘amuse bouche’ when delivering the bread – the restaurant should also be ashamed.

The thinly sliced veal shank, truffle mayonnaise, hazelnut crumble, crispy kale, marinated chanterelles was delicious.

The fallow deer filet mignon with foie gras praline, black truffle, potato-chestnut puree, port sauce with sour cherries was amazing. Perfectly cooked meat, with a smoky flavour. Meat portion was a little small, but by the end of the meal, we weren’t hungry – maybe we filled up on amuse bouche!

The honey chocolate cake with elderberry and apricot ganache, honey crisps, pistachio crumble, apricot gel, looked beautiful, but was really calories for nothing.

The gents’ toilet is just one space, with two urinals and one bowl. There is a lock, but that means someone visiting for something more than a number one, would mean no facilities. I’m surprised as a restaurant this size should provide more.

The waiter was clearly surprised when he received a 175 Kč tip. It’s clear that guests are forgetting to tip because they already paid online. Please remember to tip!

We really enjoyed our visit and would recommend Garden’s for Restaurant Week. After that, it’s a little too expensive.

So far, for Restaurant Week, the Alchymist wins the prize for interior, Garden’s food was better than Alchymist, although The Monkey Bar still wins for food. Sansho is a miserable last due to poor service and echoey room.
