Wednesday March 25th, we attended ‘Sherlock Holmes: The Musgrave Ritual’ performed by ‘The Mad and Merry Men’ theatre troupe at the Divadlo D21. The performance was a triumph –  the venue a friendly and comfortable place.

The following video shows some scenes from the play.

Divadlo D21 is hidden at the back of a courtyard off Záhřebská street. There’s a cozy bar for pre-performance drinks.

Everyone received a themed newsletter Midnight Gazette on entering the theatre.

The theatre is small, with comfortable seats. Seats aren’t allocated.

We were welcomed by the Producer, Gordon L. Schmitz.

The play centers around a disappearing butler and an age-old spoken verse ritual performed by members of the aristocratic Musgrave family.

We really enjoyed the performance – every member of the troupe was excellent. It’s amazing that they spend just three weeks preparing for a play, do one performance and then start to plan the next.

It seems the next (new) play will be 18th April 2026 again at Divadlo D21. We’ll add a link to tickets here as soon as they become available.
