Klub Commedia just started their murder mystery season at the wonderful Lore Italian restaurant in Malá Strana – and it was amazing!
The 1200 Kč per person price includes a sumptuous four-course Italian dinner and the performance. A generous glass of good red wine 125 Kč.
We assembled in the cellar of the restaurant, where tables had been arranged for both guests and actors. It was explained to us that the setting was a small Czech hotel called the Old Mill, during the period between the first and second world wars.
A delicious plate of antipasto arrived. The restaurant staff were all really friendly.
The action unfolded around us. All of the actors were fantastic – they also sat, engaged and improvised with us at the table.
A delicious plate of ricotta and spinach ravioli appeared. I was so involved with the event that I failed to take a photo. The action continued and there was a murder!
A lovely dish of pork cheeks and mashed potatoes also missed being photographed. We were both full and busy trying to identify the murderer.
I managed to photograph the delicious millefoglie.
Each table was asked to name who they believed was the murderer, the murder weapon and the motive. There was then a final reveal and the cast received rapturous applause.
I won’t spoil the story and as with all such plays, you must ‘keep the secret of whodunit locked in your heart’.
We absolutely loved the entire evening and will be regulars at these events. The price of 1200 Kč per person is a complete bargain – the food alone was probably worth that. We also plan to go for dinner in the upstairs restaurant.
Klub Commedia regularly perform in Czech, Italian and English.
