U Pečeného Kolena (at the roasted knee) is a typical Czech local restaurant in Michle about eight tram stops from the centre of Prague.

Take a tram 11 or 14 to Pod Jezerkou. Walk in the direction of the tram and turn right along the Botič stream. The restaurant is before the first block of flats, behind a hedge.

The staff are friendly. There are seats outside. Inside can get noisy when full of locals. Prices correct as May 2025.

A 0.5l Budvar 60 Kč. A 0.2l glass of drinkable red wine 72 Kč. A litre carafe of tap water 40 Kč.

A really tender steak with pepper sauce 370 Kč. Steak fries 47 Kč.

A good kuřecí řízek (chicken schnitzel) with fries 182 Kč.

If you’re looking to escape the tourist places or just want to save money, U Pečeného Kolena is worth a visit. You should probably book beforehand.
