Food Lab offers great food in a huge, beautifully-designed, restaurant, just five minutes walk from the Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí).
The first room is more like a bar, but you can also eat there.
A nice corridor leads you to a large restaurant at the rear.
Prices correct as of November 2024.
A 0.15l glass of Montepulciano is a bit steep at 170 Kč, but it was a good quality wine. A carafe of filtered water 55 Kč.
The gyoza dumplings stuffed with prawns, daikon radish and chilli, with ponzu sauce, ginger and mango mayonnaise (329 Kč) weren’t exactly traditional, but were delicious.
The seared tuna steak with sweet potato and ginger puree with miso glaze and wakame seaweed (549 Kč), ordered just pan seared, was perfectly pink.
The duck filet with parsnip purée and seasonal wild mushrooms (389 Kč) was very good.
I went downstairs to the bathroom and found a 100m², supervised ‘Kids Zone‘ – you could leave your kids there for your entire meal. Cost is 50 Kč for 30 minutes.
Food Lab is worth a visit – just don’t forget your kids when you leave!
