Delmart is a premium supermarket – they have some really nice stuff there. They also have a bistro attached to some stores and it’s pretty good.

Delmart Anděl has the supermarket downstairs and bistro upstairs (there is a lift). Everywhere is air-conditioned. The bistro has a nice design. You have to visit the counter to place your order and add drinks to a tray. Food that takes time to prepare is brought to your table. They have wine and bottled/canned beer available.

One sign, that I hadn’t seen in the supermarket, was a QR code to install a Delmart discount card. This not only gave a discount in the bistro, but also in the supermarket. It was easy to install the card on my phone – all of the following prices include the discount.

A bottle of still water 18 Kč. A Kentucky Burger 179 Kč. A piece of chicken with salad 125 Kč. Side of pečené brambory (baked potatoes) 18 Kč. There are meal deals that include a drink, soup and dessert.

The Kentucky Burger was good, although I wish I’d said “bez cibule” (no onion) as it had a huge pile of onions added.

The chicken was moist and tasty. The salad had a nice olive oil dressing.

There are large windows out to the street.

The code for the bathroom is on your receipt. I expected a keypad on the wall – instead there are four small numbers on the door handle. It’s worth memorising their position as they’re quite hard to see.

There is wi-fi, although the speed was really low.

Delmart bistro offers good food at very reasonable prices. I’m amazed it isn’t more popular. My guess is that the bistro isn’t posh enough for the supermarket clientele and is unknown to those who see Delmart as expensive and don’t venture inside.
