Popeyes Famous Louisiana Kitchen (fried chicken fast food) opened November 3rd 2023 and there have been lines outside ever since – is it worth the wait?
The short answer is probably no.
However, Popeyes do make great fast-food fried chicken – much better quality that KFC (in our opinion), with larger portions for a similar price. In the USA, there is an even better chain called Chick-fil-A – I’d be more likely to queue for their offering.
The issues with Popeyes Prague are as follows:
A victim of its own success
Long queues, a busy crowded feel once inside and items unavailable. On my last visit I wanted to order a ‘spicy chicken wrap’ and ‘supreme fries’ – both were unavailable from the kiosk screen.
Limited menu
Even when the full Prague menu is available, it is still a cut-down version of the USA menu, with only classic or spicy chicken – no bacon, no shrimp, no mac & cheese, no mash and gravy and no red beans and rice.
If you find yourself in Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square), are hungry and there’s no line outside, Popeyes is worth a visit.
