Just a short walk from Jiřího z Poděbrad, La Casa di Erminio is a beautiful Italian restaurant by Chef Patron Erminio Mele. The menu includes classic dishes, but they specialise in fresh fish. This was our first visit.
I didn’t know this restaurant exisited until last week, when we walked past on our way to La Casa Trattoria. The terrace looked very swish and the menu tempting.
We booked a table for Friday 11th June – it’s a popular place and if you want an outside table then you’ll need to book.
Our waiter, Dominic, was friendly and described that day’s fresh fish dishes. A carafe of tap water is free, a 0.1l Prosecco 110 Kč and a 0.5 l carafe of Primitivo 350 Kč.
Some homemade bread and aubergine spread was delivered to our table – that didn’t appear on the bill.
As we’d decided to have a whole sea bass, we asked if we could share a pasta with prawns (360 Kč) – that wasn’t a problem.
It was a perfect dish.
Our sea bass arrived and Dominic expertly filleted tableside.
It was a huge amount of delicious fish (above is my half) and was served with a sharing plate of vegetables.
I hadn’t asked how much the whole sea bass would cost. It turned out to be 1600 Kč. It was certainly worth that and I’d order it again – just not every day!
The restaurant interior is modern but cozy. Miniature hand towels were provided in the bathrooms and that’s a nice touch.
This was one of the best meals we’ve had this year. I’d like to return mid-week, just for a plate of pasta, but I’ll also be back for more fish.
Our total bill 2440 Kč and I think it was money well spent.
