Hergetova Cihelna has a fantastic riverside location, with views over the Vltava to Charles Bridge. Always a great place and missed during the lockdown, they are now open. And what better way to celebrate than with a party.

The weather yesterday (Friday 12th June) was perfect for drinks, canapés and music on the Cihelna terrace.

The wine was flowing and the canapés absolutely delicious. The wine was flowing and the canapés absolutely delicious. Each canapé was a miniature version of a dish from the menu; fish and chips, tikka masala and burgers.

Nils Jebens, the owner of both Cihelna and Kampa Park (the more famous restaurant next door), was there to greet and chat with guests.

As you can imagine, we had a great time – I mean who doesn’t love a free party at a place like Cihelna?

Looking at the menu, I’d be happy to pay next time. I’m not sure if the prices have been reduced, but there’s some amazing value; a large Pilsner Urquell for 55 Kč, a 0.15l Primitivo for 105 Kč, a chicken tikka masala with basmati rice 265 Kč and some great pudding options for 155 Kč.

Today, they also have a Saturday BBQ from 4pm with Black Angus burgers, ribs, hot dogs, beers and soft drinks for only 595 Kč all in. If I hadn’t already made plans, then I’d be back there today. Let’s hope this offer continues through the Summer.

Here are some more photos from the event – do you recognise anyone, we’re you there?
