Opened in January this year, Levain is on Kozácká, a narrow street just between Havlíčkovy sady and the fashionable Krymská street area.

We missed our visits to Levain while it closed for a Summer break – now we’re happy Levain re-opened this week.

The menu has been updated. Luckily, my favourite smoked duck breast (365Kc) is still there – that was the first thing I had and it was excellent.

The menu is printed – was just the blackboard, which now has tapas and puddings.

On our second visit we tried the Duck Croquettes with Coriander Raita (120Kc). I can see why this is their most popular tapas.

The pizzas are still amazing – there are more choices but I stuck with my usual favourite – yes it’s duck, what can I say, I like duck!

The interior remains modern but cosy.

There is a small wine list and we enjoyed a couple of glasses of Rioja (110Kc per 0,15l). A large bottle of water is still free – those who read my reviews know that always wins points!

Levain fits nicely into our weekly dining routine – we can share a pizza mid-week and have the smoked duck at weekends.
