May 2020 update: Sadly Le Bouquet didn’t survive the Coronavirus lockdown and is now closed.

Le Bouquet is run by Alex, who many Prague locals will know as a member of the team from the excellent Wine O’clock wine bar in the centre of Prague. I guess he decided to see if the same successful mixture of wine tasting and tapas could be replicated in Vinohrady.

The theme is based around the actress Dagmar Frýbortová (yes I hadn’t heard of her either) who apparently lived in the building. Even if you don’t know her, the classic black & white movie pictures add a nice atmosphere to the place.

The bar is larger than Wine O’clock, but then so are most places. I’d say there’s room for 30 people seated at tables plus half a dozen or so at the bar.

The concept is basically, Alex recommends a wine, you try it, drink more or try something else, while Alex feeds you various expertly-prepared tapas.

If you are a fan of Wine O’clock, but now can’t get in because it’s so busy with tourists who found it as No. 1 on Trip Advisor, a Vinohrady local or just find yourself nearby then I’d recommend a visit.
